Whenever I go to the beach I love watching the shorebirds scurry in and out of the surf. Willets are one of the most common species I’ve seen, and they’re fun to photograph because they seem to be a little less shy than some of the other birds. This painting is based off of a photo I took at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.
This painting was done in watercolor and watercolor pencil on a 6” x 8” sheet of watercolor paper. The original has sold.
